Delete your Probe data
Probe, the internet speed test by Clearpoint Studios, has no account. Most of what it holds lives only on your phone. This page explains how to delete both parts.
1. Data on your phone
Test results, Wi-Fi names, network names and settings are stored only on your device and are never uploaded to us.
- Open Probe.
- Go to the More tab.
- Tap Delete all data and confirm.
Everything is erased from the phone right away, and the push token for support replies is removed from our server and from Firebase. Uninstalling Probe also erases the data on the phone.
Your support conversations stay on our side after this step, but this phone can no longer open them. To have them deleted, follow step 2.
2. Data on our side
On our side we hold your support tickets, if you have written to us, and an anonymous install counter record at RevenueCat. To have them deleted, with or without the app installed:
- Write to clearpointstudios@proton.me with the subject "Probe data deletion".
- So we can find your tickets, add the approximate date of your support message and its subject or first words. Your device model helps too.
- We delete the data within 30 days and confirm by reply.
What is deleted
- Your support tickets and every message in them, including our replies and their translations
- The app version, Android version, device model and language stored with the tickets
- The anonymous support identifier and the push token for support replies
- The forwarded copy of your messages in our private notification channel
- The anonymous install counter record at RevenueCat that belongs to that identifier
Nothing is kept after deletion, apart from database backups for disaster recovery, which are overwritten within 30 days. Test results and Wi-Fi names were never on our servers, so there is nothing of them to delete on our side.
Closed support tickets are also deleted automatically no later than 12 months after the last message. Details are in the privacy policy.
